Join us for an evening of dining, a live auction, and live music as we honor the recipients of the Luminary Award, the Chicago Blackhawks, and the Sister Katie Visionary Award, bestowed upon Willie Morris Jr.
Our new name, "Lumiere" (formerly the Fleur de Lis), is in recognition of the legacy of the Daughters of Charity who chose Chicago as their founding city for the Marillac Social Center (1914) and the St. Vincent de Paul Center (1915).
The word Lumiere translates to “light” in French; this is a reference to the vision of light experienced by St. Louise de Marillac in 1623. In this vision, she received her calling from God to dedicate her life to those in need. It was that calling that led St. Louise de Marillac and St. Vincent de Paul to establish the Daughters of Charity in Paris, France.
Marillac St. Vincent Family Services stands as the continuation of the commitment to serve those in need and to do so in the city of Chicago. The light and hope that we pour into those who visit us daily come from our people and our partners; they make it possible for us to deliver our services with love and compassion. From that light and hope comes the progress and social well-being deserved by all so they may flourish and thrive.
Your participation in Lumiere will help us raise the funds that support our ongoing work as we provide lifesaving services to Chicagoans of all ages that cover the full cycle of life from birth to senior citizenship.
